UPDATED July 9 Bersih 2.0 Rally The Istana Negara has released a special text of the comment of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin on the Bersih 2.0 rally which planned to be held on July 9, 2011 in the federal capital.

Below is the full text of the King.

Beta sedang mengikuti dengan teliti akan perkembangan cadangan Kumpulan Bersih untuk mengadakan perarakan dan perhimpunan beramai-ramai yang bertujuan untuk menyerahkan memorandum kepada Beta selaku Yang di-Pertuan Agong, dan bagaimana pihak kerajaan menangani isu ini khususnya agensi-agensi dan jabatan-jabatan yang terlibat.


Namun Beta yakin kepimpinan negara di bawah Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak berkemampuan untuk menangani masalah ini dengan sebaik mungkin.


Beta menyeru di dalam keghairahan sebahagian rakyat berpolitik bagi menyuburkan demokrasi dalam negara kita ini hendaklah dipastikan juga bahawa tuntutan demokrasi itu tidak akan membawa kemusnahan kepada negara.


Kita tidak boleh terlalu terikut-ikut dengan amalan-amalan negara-negara luar secara umumnya kerana keharmonian dan kestabilan negara adalah asas penting bagi sesebuah negara yang perlu semua pihak pertahankan.


Beta juga menyeru kepada pihak kerajaan agar melaksanakan segala amanah yang diberikan kepada rakyat secara adil dan bijaksana dan yang pentingnya Beta selaku Yang di-Pertuan Agong tidak mahu melihat dalam negara bermasyarakat majmuk ini berada di dalam keadaan bermusuhan sesama sendiri ataupun sebahagian rakyatnya bermusuh dengan kerajaan atas apa jua alasan pun.


Setiap permasalahan yang timbul, kita sebagai masyarakat bertamadun hendaklah menyelesaikan secara rundingan dan tidak mengikut perasaan seperti pepatah Melayu "Yang Dikejar Tak Dapat Yang Dikendong Berciciran".


Hakikatnya demonstrasi jalanan banyak membawa keburukan daripada kebaikan walaupun niat asalnya baik.


Sebaliknya kita harus menumpukan kepada matlamat utama memajukan negara, bukannya mencipta masalah yang membuat negara berada terkebelakang. Ingatlah bumi mana yang tidak ditimpa hujan, lautan mana yang tidak bergelora.


Itulah pentingnya sifat kesederhanan dan tolak ansur yang telah begitu lama diamalkan oleh warisan pentadbiran negara.

Bersih 2.0 plans to organise rallies in Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Sarawak on July 9 to call for clean and fair elections.

THE MALAYSIAN MANGLISH - ROJAK!!

What is Manglish and What is Malaysian English. Manglish is not Malaysian English, and Malaysian English is not Manglish.

The Manglish is the Mangled English. The vocabulary of Manglish consists of words originating from English, Malay, Hokkien, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Tamil.

The Malaysian English, on the other hand, is the Malaysian Standard English, which is a form of English used and spoken in Malaysia as a second language. Malaysian English should not be confused with Malaysian Colloquial English which is famously known as Manglish.

Below is a joke, one big joke on our Malaysian Manglish.

Even an Englishman cannot construct sentences using numeric, which is exclusive only to Malaysians and Singaporeans.

Instead of Lee Chong Wei, the last Olympic medal won by Malaysia in badminton was Rashid Sidek in 1996.

Instead of Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boong Heong, the last All England won by a Malaysian was in 2003 through Muhammad Hafiz Hashim. Out of 23 titles won by Malaysia, only two of them belongs to "original" Malaysian. Another one was double, Razif and Jalani Sidek in 1982.

Remember, without Nicole Ann David, Malaysian is nowhere near to world-class squash player.

Whassup people?! This is life_rocker again! Remember my last post on May 25? I posted about the World's Biggest Angry Birds Playground.

Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas

The following is not an anti-government post.

Lynas, an Australia company is building (target completion end-2011) a rare earth processing plant in Gebeng, Kuantan. The plant is likely to causesevere damages to environment and may leave behind canser causing waste products.

The raw material will be imported from Australia and output will be exported to oversea. The byproducts, waste left behind is slightly radioactive, and could potentially bring substantial damage to the environment and the health of the local community (which may include Kuantan, Chukai, Kemaman or Pekan).

Earth Hour 2012 Official Video is out!

For your information, we are living in the 21st century - a high-tech world. Unless you are Muslim, then you are still living in the 15th century ewww. While we are in the high-tech era, all of us are getting exposed to really high-tech products and gadgets.

I meant, seriously, you won't get to see an iPhone 10 years ago - but you can now own it! Apple is getting its company greater and greater. Now I just can see Apple is doing great! Errr introducing one new generation of iPhone every year is seriously tooooo over, but since they can only earn money by doing this, what to do?

But for us in Malaysia, we are always lagging behind. Look at our Internet speed. It sucks, seriously! Even when Apple introduces new products, we won't be one the first few countries to get the products. But this time it's abit different larh, its an exception ha ha ha, we are one of the first few countries to get the iPad 2. Woohoo! But rumours said this generation of iPad is just an upgrade of first-generation iPad. They told us to wait for iPad 3 - the real new iPad lol.

Well back to the main point - How high-tech can you be? I meant, in Malaysia, you can't really be up-to-date with the latest technologies. But I somehow see people acting like they are the IT profs! Shyt!

And this guy hasn't even completed his secondary education, and yet acting like he is one of the richest guy in Malaysia! I disrespect you! Puiii! First, he posted on Facebook - "I don't wanna go US, i want to go UK!" And people start commenting and liking. One of his friends commented: "What are you talking about?" And then this guy starts feeling happy because he has got the attention from him. He replied: "My parent is sending me to US after I finish my SPM." Oh shyt!

Malaysian Education System - Good or Bad?

COMMENT Hey people! How are you?! Well, I have repeatedly mentioned our education system in this blog. One thing I am quite curious about is the ability of our teachers - primary schools' and secondary schools'.

One thing that does not make sense is that - why are there educated teachers and non-educated teachers? I thought all the teachers should be educated + dedicated! Now I have seen teachers from the northern region of Malaysia teach lesser in schools and keep all the valuable knowledges to all their students in extra tuition classes (in which the students have to pay to attend the classes).

On the other hand, from what I heard, the teachers in southern region teach everything that is in the syllabus in the school but give extra knowledges to their tuition students.

The teachers in the central region are the most dedicated teachers (not to say all are educated). Why is this so? The teachers here are all determined to teach their students in class all the things covered in the syllabus plus all the extra knowledges. Parents in central region do not need to send their children to extra tuition classes - which are bullshits!

What have caused the differences between the teachers in different regions? From what I have seen, the teachers from northern region are not dedicated enough. They don't teach because they are teachers, but they teach because of the money (one wrong thinking that has made the northern students less-educated).

In public government schools, teachers are given the 'salary' with some extra 'allowance'. These so-called salaries and allowances are indeed enough to get them good lives. But what the teachers in northern regions want are - the extra incomes. And this is the main problem why northern region students are normally less-educated than others (students have to keep attending tuition classes to gain more knowledge, and which means, parents have also need to keep paying for their children's tuition fees).

Not to be specific which state is the worst, I personally think students from Kedah and Kelantan are always less-educated than other states in northern region (except those in cluster schools and chinese secondary schools).

Another bad thing about teachers in Malaysia is, they always do not want to enter class. This, to be specific, happens more often in secondary school. Some teachers even told the students to "study yourselves", "you are no longer in primary schools", "I treat you as an adult" bla bla bla. If you are lazy, just tell the students!

Super Junior M - Live in Putrajaya

Whassup everyone?! This is life_rocker again! Errr, did I just mention SuJu M? Oh yea, I did!

Guess what? The XX Government has wasted lotsa tax payers' money to let Super Junior M grab the votes from youngsters! I meant, its really a waste of money!

Well, having foreign artistes to perform in Malaysia, esp during such an event in Putrajaya, is really irritating the local artistes! They are indeed very very angry, and are going to explode in every now and then.

Twitter and Facebook are the two most popular places the local artistes use to b.a.r.k. I have found some of them on the Twitter and have made some sort of short list to conclude the barks.

PSD Scholarships Issue - C'mon MCA!!

Gagasan Anti-Penyelewangan Selangor (Gaps) asks MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek to amend the Constitution of Malaysia. But my question is - Do you think it is possible to pass the constitution amendments? Please think before you speak! The Malaysiakini report goes something like this..

Is it a fact that all Malaysians have a right to a scholarship? The federal constitution only states that the Malays and bumiputera have the right to receive a scholarship.   -Gaps president Hamidzun Khairuddin 

“This constitution is made by the Reid Commission, not by the Malay leaders,” he added, shifting the blame from the majority community to the five-member Commonwealth panel that drafted the nation's constitution in 1956.

Hamidzun was responding to MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek's comments on the PSD scholarship fracas carried by a news portal yesterday, where the latter's report said, “MCA told the prime minister today top SPM students should be given scholarships to study abroad despite Putrajaya's claim that it did not make any such promise.”

Referring to “some members of the ruling party and opposition who are very racist and chauvanistic”, Hamidzun lashed out at Chua in particular ,saying the chief of the second largest BN component party should amend the constitution if he disagreed with the issue.

“If Soi Lek disagrees, he should amend the constitution drawn up by Lord Reid. Soi Lek should be more objective in his leadership,” said the Gaps leader.

CHAN SHAO KANG IS THE MAN!

Almost one month after Wen Jiabao visited Malaysia, let's remind ourselves, there was this man (well, actually he is still a student) challenging the Malaysian Government (or should I say just the authorities of UM?).

This man is Chan Shao Kang. He is still a first year medical imaging student in UM - the oldest university in Malaysia. He tried a few times to ask questions by raising his hand and shouting "Premier Wen, please give me a chance."

An officer then approached him and asked what were the questions he had in mind. After listening to the questions, the officer then told him those questions were too sensitive and advised him not to raise it.

Chan Shao Kang then wrote an open letter to Wen Jiabao, on his blog. The open letter goes like this..

rapidKL HAS PROBLEMS WITH BUS DRIVERS

EXCLUSIVE Okay now this is how the rapidKL buses work. The rapidKL buses come to the bus stop every 20-40 minutes, depending on the needs. That means you sometimes need to waste 40 minutes standing there waiting for the bus. #winning

One funny fact of rapidKL buses passengers is, that they never want to move further back into bus to make room. I don't know whether or not they have mental problems, but they somehow do not understand others who really need the bus - where sometimes there are still spaces behind, but no one wants to move further back into it. #yousucks

The fact that calling for taxi cabs in Klang Valley is expensive enough to kill you, gets the rapidKL buses more values! And some stupid rapidKL bus drivers will somehow try to use the rapidKL buses to earn extra money. #wtf

One thing the passengers must know - you either use Touch 'n Go cards, or get the valid tickets after paying. Passengers must get a valid tickets from the drivers after paying them! If not, you can call rapidKL helpline at 03-78852585.

I came across a bus, with a notice wanting every passenger to have a valid ticket. But the problem is, someone has somehow got the notice destroyed. I suppose it's done purposely, but why? Look at the photo below - epic fail!

Barack Obama gets stuck at US Embassy in Ireland

[VIDEO INSIDE] Barack Obama’s car got stuck at the US Embassy in Ireland as it tried to drive over a small ramp. President Obama’s car is nicknamed ‘The Beast’ as it was built to withstand all types of attacks. However the car didn’t prove too nifty as it drove from the US Embassy during Obama’s visit to Ireland.

When the car’s low underbelly caught on a piece of metal, the driver was forced to get out of the car and investigate. The following video is with a great description - "It might be bullet proof, it might be missile proof - but a teeny weeny kerb has defeated the Presidential car!!!!!"

GOD NEVER BLINKS - Regina Brett

Regina Brett (born May 31, 1956) is a columnist for The Plain Dealer, a daily newspaper serving Cleveland, Ohio. She was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for commentary in 2008 and 2009. Her first book, "God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours" was published in April, 2010 by Grand Central Publishing.

In 2006, Brett wrote a column for The Plain Dealer entitled "50 Life Lessons", which has since been the most distributed column she has written to date, appearing on blogs as well as social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook. In many of these instances, Brett is misidentified as a 90-year-old woman lol. The "50 Life Lessons" column has been expanded to fifty chapters for her upcoming book, "God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours".

Brett was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in the commentary category in both 2008 and 2009. She received a lifetime achievement Batten Medal in 1999, and was nominated for a Batten Medal for her work in 2008.

BERSIH 2.0 - July 9, 2011

Whassup guys? The general election, as I mentioned, is getting nearer and nearer. We do not know when will our PM Najib announce the exact date, but one thing we can be very sure is that, the GE is not far away.

The BERSIH , now called Bersih 2.0, has announced that it will hold a 'Walk For Democracy' in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, July 9 at 2pm. They are aiming, again, 100,000 people to join. And PAS itself has confidence to attract 100,000 supporters. Woooh!

The rakyat turned streets of KL into a sea of yellow.

More than 40,000 attended the Nov 10 Bersih rally.

One of the largest public demonstrations in the country.

FRU tear-gassed the public.

Remember the first Bersih rally on November 10, 2007? The Nov 10 Bersih rally was the nation's largest public demonstration since 1998 Reformasi movement. The rally saw a massive turnout of 40,000 people (indeed more than 80,000 have turned out, including those participated simultaneously at other places in Klang Valley), turning the streets of Kuala Lumpur into a sea of yellow. And to add one interesting fact, the 2007 HINDRAF rally, held 2 weeks after the Nov 10 Bersih rally, was another large public street demonstration.

According to official Bersih website, the Bersih's objective was to push for a thorough reform of the electoral process in Malaysia. Bersih wants to ensure Malaysians have access to genuine democratic elections. The BERSIH Nov 10 rally and 2007 HINDRAF rally have helped set the stage for the political tsunami in the March 08 GE. We will wait and see whether or not the BERSIH 2.0 will help setting the stage for another political tsunami in the coming GE.

Nobody gives up seat for old man

EXCLUSIVE This happened in the Ampang Line LRT. The train was packed, and there was an old man who had to stand for the duration of his train journey. No one gave up seats for him and they are all youngsters.

This old man had to stand for the duration of more than 6 stations.

There were at least six of them, who, I think, are 9 to 5 office workers, pretended not to see this old man. But are you sure you really cannot see someone who is older than you standing right in front of you?

One of the young ladies sitting beside him even talked on the phone. Even after she has finished her not-so-important phone call, she acted like no one standing there.

Please! Give up your seat to those in need!

My Father (in neon green vest) politely asked to get an autograph from Justin Bieber for my little sister who is a huge fan of his. He hits the CD out of my father's hand without a word throwing it to the floor and just carries on walking. No one from Justin Bieber's crew apologised not least of all Justin Bieber himself for what he did. Surely politely refusing to sign for whatever reason would have been enough? (he claims he was ill) but to throw it to the floor in a huff like some kind of spoilt baby is no way to behave whether you are famous or not!
